These are lists of books that I've read to Baby Bookworm. But there are a few books that I feel belong quintessentially to middle school kids, and I have categorized those as such.įor picture books and board books, see also here and here. The middle school category, in particular, is difficult to define (since standard age ranges for books are simply 9-12 and 13 and up). I am especially grateful to my friend Sara for the wonderful list of recommendations that she sent, and to my nieces from Westwood, MA. These book recommendations come a variety of sources: reviews in Publisher's Weekly, Bookmarks, The Horn Book, and Mystery Scene magazines, and the M is for Mystery newsletter and suggestions from readers of my blog.
